The Contour was one of Ford's attempts to sell the same car worldwide. Though well received in Europe it was considered too small in the U.S. However, if one wanted a compact sedan, it was an excellent car with good power and handling, especially in the SE versions with the V6 engine.
Ours was a Champagne Clearcoat Metallic with a Pumice leather interior. It had every available option, except for a moonroof and automatic transmission. It wa our only car ordered from the factory. We drove it for a year, but it developed constant alignment problems, after being on a flat bed tow truck, for an engine fault. So, we traded it on a BMW 3 Series.
