The Ford Escape is one of the best selling small SUVs. Though the nameplate has been around for some time, the curent Escape was completely redesigned for model year 2013 and shares no parts with the previous model. Due to a clean sheet of paper design and extensive use of high strength steel, the Escape manages to have as much cargo space as many mid-size SUVs, while have dimensions smaller than many compact SUVs.
The Escape is also a technological showcase for Ford. The engine is a 2.0 liter version of Ford’s Ecoboost, direct injected and turbocharged, inline 4. In the Escape, the engine produces 240 hp and 270 lb/ft of torque. This enables a 0 to 60 time of 6.8 seconds, while still returning 21 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway. The Escape can be ordered with several high tech features, not found on many luxury SUV, like a “hands free”, foot operated power tailgate and automated parallel parking. It also has latest version of the Ford Sync navigation and telematics system.
Our Escape is a Titanium 4WD in Magnetic (a metallic gray) with a Black Leather interior. Being a Titanium, it has extensive luxury features including dual zone AC, 10-way power front seats with driver memory, keyless entry with pushbutton start, and the foot operated tailgate. It also has the 301A option package, which includes bi-xenon headlights, parallel self parking, and blind spot and rear cross traffic alerting. Additionally it has the 2.0L ecoboost option, Sync Navigation, and 19” nickel finish alloy wheels. Finally, it has dealer installed window tinting, wheel locks, and rear tonneau cover.
