2004 Jaguar X-Type 3.0

The Jaguar X-Type was based upon the European Ford Mondeo. The Mondeo was an excellent car and gave the Jaguar great handling and proven Ford components. However, the exterior and interior styling were entirely Jaguar. It even had a Jaguar Leaper on the hood. There were two V6 engines available in the U.S. with the 3.0 being the bigger engine. All X-Types had a rear wheel biased all wheel drive system that gave good handling and all weather capability. The car sold well in Europe but was overpriced when first introduced into the U.S. and slammed by the U.S. press for being based on the Mondeo.

Our was a Jaguar Racing Green one with a Champagne leather and Sapele wood trimmed interior. The leather was Connoly hides and with the Sapele wood was the most beautiful interior of any car we have ever owned. It also was very reliable. This was also our first All Wheel Drive vehicle. We only got rid of it becaue we wanted a car with Navigation and it wasn't being made anymore.
