1997 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT

The 1996-1998 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT was an awesome car.  Ford's special vehicle team put what was basically a blueprinted engine in a Ford Mustang chassis with upgraded brakes and tires.  Styling cues were there the twin scoop hood, a more aggressive front end, special alloys, and the famous Cobra badges in select places.  The engines were hand built by teams of two on a special production line, which limited the annual production to around 10,000 vehicles.  At the time it was as fast as Corvette or Porsche 911 and, at $27,410, a performance bargain.

Ours was a Rio Red hard top with a Black leather Interior.  It was my favorite car with the sound of the exhaust sound alone, being worth the premium over a standard Mustang.  it was also the fastest car I ever owned and a blast to drive.  However, it was a bit of a beast to drive with a stiff clutch, heavy steering and heavy brakes but this only made it seem more like a race car for the street.
